PADI OWSI to Freediver Instructor Development & Training - PADI FIDT
Scuba diving and freediving are two different activities that require very specific skills. It is easier to start freediving if you have already some good experience in scuba, but when it comes to teach freediving, you will feel more confident when you are able to demonstrate mastery as a professional Freediving Instructor.
As it is the case for every sport, the more you will practice, the more experience you will gain and the better you will become.
There is a set of skills which is absolutely essential for every freedive instructor. Your body and mind will require training in various conditions, disciplines & situations to reach your targets and be able to supervise other in a safe and healthy way. Teaching freediving can be physically and mentally challenging. Body adaptation to this new challenging activity is something that isn’t developed in a couple of days.
Hence, we have designed a specific program to support, motivate and guide PADI Scuba Instructors who wants to offer the exciting freediving experience to their students.
This program has been designed by Jean Pol (JP) Francois is an experienced Scuba Instructor (PADI – NAUI – SDI) , a professional freediver for more than 25 years (AIDA Education Officer, AIDA and PADI Instructor Trainer – CMAS Freediver Instructor – Apnea Academy Instructor – AIDA Judge Instructor) and former competition swimmer.
JP perfectly knows what are the challenges encountered by the scuba diving instructors when they discover freediving for the first time.
