Some technical details :

Super Composite Skin (SCS) Nano
This SCS Nano is the most hydrodynamic, with a very low underwater coefficient of dynamic friction. Nano Technology above the new Superskin in several colors with a special Ultra-Slide rubber outside for high-speed performance / super-soft rubber elastic, warmth, visible and perfect for freediving competitions.

Nano Superskin Yamamoto - DIFFERENT COLOR

Yamamoto is a top-of-the-range neoprene product with great elasticity to reduce resistance to tears.

With a higher resistance to compression (pressure at depth diving), it maintains its special features at depth: extra-stretchy, extra-comfortable and extra-warm.

SuperElastic lining - BLACK COLOR
Warm and durable wetsuit coating, very resistant to tears, easier to wear, and comfortable either when worn dry or wet.

  • Wetsuits from Bestdive are made with the Yamamoto 39 Neoprene.

A good wetsuit must be like a second skin that will protect you against cold and sun and which is flexible enough to allow you to move your arms and shoulders easily and flexible at the chest to ease your relaxation breathing.

    • What thickness do you need in the Philippines?

Of course, it will depend if you get easily cold. The water temperature seldomly will go under 26c here from Feb till April. During the other months of the year, it can go up to 31c. If you don't get cold easily, then a 2mm neoprene wetsuit will make the job.

    • Open-cell or Nylon inside?

Definitely open cell. It is better insulation than only nylon, with the feeling that the wetsuit fits totally onto your body. Easier to wear with freshwater or even with a little liquid soap. My preferred choice for a wetsuit, so comfortable.

    • Super Smooth Skin or Nylon outside?

Recreation freediving: then nylon outside is what you need. More resistant and more protection; Smooth skin will be more for performances and competitors.

Smooth skin wetsuits are more fragile and are therefore recommended for experienced freedivers who know how to take perfect care of their equipment. The smooth skin will progressively lose its shiny colors (except if you use it seldomly). It is also very sensitive to the sun and (same for any brand like Orca, Cressi, Elios,...) some cracks will appear at the shoulders, hood, and upper part of your back (due to the direct contact of the sun when at the surface). No need to say that this kind of material is allergic to fingernails.

    • Tailor-made or standard sizes?

Best is of course the tailor-made if you want your wetsuit to be like a second skin. The good thing with Bestdive is that they have a lot of different sizes available in Standards. But if you are a competitor, you will definitely choose a tailor-made one.

    • Recreational or Competition?

If you are thinking of competition, you could have a wetsuit for each discipline: open-cell 2-3-5-7mm for the static; 1-2mm super smooth skin for Dyn; 2-3mm Smooth skin for depths. When choosing the smooth skin for competition some athletes will choose also the open cell inside which will make the wetsuit a second skin. This is for top performances BUT very very very fragile
